DHAKA: Newly elected mayor of Mymensingh City Corporation Ikramul Haque Titu and 44 councilors took oath on Monday (May 27).

The Prime Minister administered the oath-taking ceremony of newly elected Mayor Ikramul Haque Titu at her office.

Later, local government minister Tajul Islam administered oath of 44 councilors, including 11 female councilors.

In October last year, Mymensingh City Corporation was formed as the 12th city corporation. Later, the maiden election of the new City Corporation was held on May 5.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, Agriculture Minister Abdur Razzak, Leader of the Opposition Raushan Ershad, PM's Advisor Gowher Rizvi and others were present in the swearing-in ceremony.

The ceremony was conducted by MS Golam Faruque, senior secretary of the Local Government Division.
