BNP brings out procession for Khaleda's release

DHAKA: BNP leaders and activists brought out a procession in the city demanding the release of jailed chairperson Khaleda Zia, who has been serving jail term in two cases since February 8 last year.

The procession led by BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi was brought out from in front of its Nyapaltan central office  at 8:00am.

Issuing a warning to the government, Rizvi, in his short speech after the procession, said that unlawful power can not be continued by keeping Khaleda Zia captive in jail.  Release her immediately from the jail. People of the country are now firmly determined to release her from jail and free the country from the clutches of ‘one-party rule’.

The procession was ended in front of party office after parading to Nightingale intersection.

Leaders and activists of BNP and Chhatra Dal took part in the procession chanting different slogans for the release of former premier.
