CUMILLA: A court here denied the bail petition filed by BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in a murder case filed in Cumilla in 2015.

The court on Monday (Feb 4) also set February 25 for framing charge in the case.

Cumilla district and session judge Md Ali Akber rejected the petition after hearing arguments of both sides.

Khaleda Zia’s lawyer advocate Kaimul Huq Rinku confirmed the matter to Banglnews.

As per case statement, eight people were killed and several others injured in a petrol bomb attack on a bus at Jogmohanpur in Chauddagram upazila of Comilla district during the BNP-led alliance’s movement on February 3 in 2015.

Nuruzzaman, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Chauddagram Police Station, filed the case against 77 people, including the BNP Chairperson, in this connection.
