DHAKA: Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said the present government will act as the polls-time government.

Tofail was talking to the reporters following a meeting held with Brazilian ambassador in Dhaka Joao Tabajara de Oliveira at the ministry conference room in secretariat on Sunday (October 7).

In response to a question about the polls-time government, he said, “Current government is the polls-time government. However, the size of the government will be determined by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.”

“New cabinet will be formed in the last week of this month or first week of November,” he said.

The minister also added that the 11th parliamentary election will be held in due time as per constitution. It will not be delayed whether a political party joins or not.
