4 BAU students suspended over sexual harassment

MYMENSINGH: The authorities of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) on Tuesday (Jan 21) suspended four of its students for their alleged involvement in sexual harassment of a fellow female student.

The suspended students are Nasir Uddin, Mobassher Hossain, Shamim Reza and Safaetul Islam Tonmoy. All of them are honours final-year students of the university’s separate departments.

The university authorities issued a notice in this regard this morning.

According to the notice, they were found guilty in a primary investigation after a female student of the university had lodged a complaint of harassing her.

The BAU authorities also served show-cause notices on the four students asking them to explain within next five working days why they would not be expelled from the university.
