JESSORE: Two persons were killed after a reckless bus ran over them in Abhaynagar upazila of the district.

The accident happened at Jafarpur area on Jessore-Khulna highway around 6 pm on Friday (October 18).

The deceased were identified as Golam Rabbani, 75, of Jafarpur village of Abhaynagar upazila    and Josna Begum of Duttgati village of the same upazila.

According to police and locals, a Khulna-bound Prince Paribahan bus hit Golam Rabbani and Josna Begum and fell into roadside ditch. Two of them got killed on the spot.

Two dead bodies were sent to Jessore 250-bed General Hospital morgue. The bus was seized, but the driver fled. A case will be filed in this connection, Omar Faruq, sub inspector of  Noapara Highway Police station, told Banglanews.
