Ekushey Padak winning pundit Satya Priya Mahathero dies

DHAKA: Satyapriya Mahathero, Principal of Buddhists Temples in Ramu, died at a city hospital early on Friday (Oct 4).

The Ekushey Padak winner personality breathed his last at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) at midnight.

He had been undergoing treatment at BSMMU hospital since September 20. 

Earlier on September 28, Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader visited ailing Satyapriya Mahathero at BSMMU and took information about health condition of Satyapriya, Ekushey Award winner personality.  

The minister stayed at his cabin for some times and talked to the physicians concerned about his health condition and assured of providing all necessary help.

Srimat Sattyaprio Mohathero was awarded with Ekushey Padak in 2015 for his contribution in social service.
