DHAKA: US ambassador to Dhaka Earl Robert Miller said the United States is committed to assisting Bangladesh in stopping terrorism financing, curbing money laundering and integrating the rule of law.
He said this at a workshop titled 'Financial crime investigation and justice' held at a hotel in the capital on Thursday (September 19).
The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit and the US Department of Justice jointly organized the workshop.
Ambassador Earl Miller said the United States was working at regional and international level to stop funding for terrorism. However, to prevent financing in terrorism, not only law is required but also investigation and judicial procedure must be completed with due process.
Miller said financing off terrorism is becoming complicated, because terrorists are working in more sophisticated ways day by day.
Abu Hena Mohammad Razi Hassan, Head of Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit, was present at the workshop.
