Bangladesh-Malta enter new era of ties

DHAKA: Bangladesh and Malta are working together to push the bilateral relations towards a new era and expand bilateral trade. The countries have already signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in a bid to boost cooperation. 

The information was disseminated in a press release sent from the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday (July 23).

According to the release, Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen held a bilateral meeting with Malta Foreign Minister Carmelo Abela on Monday (July 22).

The two sides, at a meeting held in Valletta, the capital of Malta, a small island off the coast of Europe, agreed to boost trade between the two countries. At the same time, the two countries will work to expand the blue economy.

After the meeting, two Memorandums of Understanding was signed between Bangladesh and Malta. The first one signed for holding regular political consultation meeting between two countries. The other is diplomatic training cooperation between the two countries.

Bangladesh Ambassador to Greece Jasim Uddin and DG (West Europe and EU) Mohammad Khorshed Khastagir attended the meeting.
