9 Ctg upazilas declared 'spl areas' to prevent Rohingya inclusion in voter list EC's regional server station office in Chattogram.

CHATTOGRAM: Election Commission (EC) declared nine upazilas of Chattogram as "special areas" to prevent inclusion of Rohingya refugees in voter list.

The upazilas are--Rangunia, Boalkhali, Patiya, Karnaphuli, Anwara, Chandanaish, Satkania, Lohagara and Banshkhali.

Residents of these upazilas will have to fill-up special information form beside the common one.

Meanwhile, 15-member special committees have been formed, with the Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs) as the conveners and Election Officers (EOs) as the member secretaries, in the upazilas.

They were given a set of 10 tasks in a letter signed by EC Assistant Secretary Mosharraf Hossain.

Updating the existing voter list will be started in six upazilas of the port city on Tuesday (April 23).
