Cops bullet-hit in drive to nab 'terrorist' Md Wasim

CHATTOGRAM: Seven persons including six policemen sustained bullet injuries in an attack during a drive to arrest a wanted terrorist in Asadganj Shutki Palli area under Kotwali thana of port city Monday (April 22).

The incident happened around 4:30pm.

The law enforcers, however, managed to arrest Md Wasim, the accused.

He also sustained injuries.

Wasim was accused in 14 cases filed on various charges, said Kotwali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohmmad Mohsin.

Wasim opened fire at the policemen, in the drive.

Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Arefin, Special Sub-Inspectors (SSIs) Mahbub and Sukumar and Constable Jahangir are among the injured.

All the injured including Wasim were admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
