DHAKA: A madrasha teacher was killed as an oil tanker lorry ran over him in Kalyanpur Bus stand area of Dhaka Thursday (March 21).

The accident happened around 4:15am.

The deceased was identified as Abdur Razzak, hailed from Meherpur district sadar area.

Mirpur Sadar Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Monjurul Islam told Banglanews that Razzak died on the spot as a lorry hit him while he was crossing the road at early hours.  

The body was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for an autopsy.

The deceased taught at a madrasha. Efforts are on to know details, added the SI.
