While briefing the media, the DMP Commissioner said a four-tier security measure has been taken surrounding the Central Shaheed Minar centering this year's International Mother Language Day to be celebrated on Thursday.

Apart from around 16,000 forces, they would install archways, barricades and CCTVs to ensure the safety measures, he added.

Detectives, SWAT, Bomb Disposal Units and Crime Scene Vehicles will remain standing to thwart any untoward situation. The entire area will be swiped with dog squads.

Besides, several teams of plain-clothes policemen would remain patrolling everywhere, he added.

After paying homage to language movement martyrs by VIPs including the president, the prime minister, speaker, deputy speaker and foreign diplomats, the Shaheed Minar will be opened for all to pay tributes.

Other people will have to enter the area through Palashi intersection and leave the place through Doyel Chattar and Chan Kha Pool after placing wreaths.
