DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed firm determination to free the society from corruption, drug menace and terrorism.
“We always want it--we will make the society free from all the ‘black diseases’. For that, we will have to do everything necessary,” she said terming the ill practices of corruption, drug abuse and terrorism as ‘black diseases’.
Sheikh Hasina was visiting the home ministry at the secretariat Sunday (Jan 20).
She directed the ministry officials to initiate necessary steps in this regard.
“A country should be free from drug absue, terrorism, militancy and corruption, to make it a developed one. For this, the home ministry should put special attention,” added the prime minister.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Public Security Division Secretary Mostafa Kamal Uddin and Security Services Division Secretary Farid Uddin Ahmed Chowdhury, among others, were present there.
