1299 RMG workers sued over strike Workers return to work

SAVAR (DHAKA): Eight garment factory owners filed separate cases against 1299 RMG workers for vandalism and looting during the recent strike in Savar and Ashulia.

So far, police arrested 25 workers from these two aforementioned places.

Six factory owners, under Ashulia police station, filed six cases accusing 881 persons, of them 196 are identified while 685 are unidentified. 

Speaking to Banglanews, Rejaul Haque, officer-in-charge of Ashulia Police station said 12 workers are in police custody in the police station. Efforts are underway to arrest other accused.

Some workers have been fired while some are under various pressures as they returned to work after eight consecutive days of demonstration.
