GAZIPUR: A truck driver and a helper were electrocuted to death in Jhajor area under Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) early Thursday (Nov 15).
The deceased are—the driver Rubel Mia, 30, and the helper Jahangir Alam, 50; both hailed from Bhola district.
Joydebpur Fire Service Senior Station Officer Md Jakir Hossain said electric wire came into contact while soil was being unloaded from the truck, around 1:30am.
Rubel and Jahangir died on the spot.
On information, the bodies were recovered from the spot, added Jakir.
