DHAKA: Some 65 people have been arrested till early Thursday (Nov 15), in three cases filed over clashes and torching cop vehicles in front of BNP’s central office in Nayapaltan.   

The arrestees include Adviser to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia also former lawmaker Helaluzzaman Talukder Lalu. 

Paltan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mahmud Hossain confirmed the matter to banglanews, in the morning.

Police, as the plaintiff, filed the three cases Wednesday (Nov 14) night. 

BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas and his wife Jatiyatabadi Mohila Dal president Afroza Abbas are among the top accused.

Two police vans were gutted by fire during clashes between BNP leaders and activists and policemen Wednesday noon.
