DHAKA: BNP leaders and activists set fire to two police vans following a clash with law enforcers in front of city’s Nayapaltan Central office on Wednesday (November 14).
Police fired rubber bullets, used teargas, and charged batons to disperse the agitating supporters. Some supporters were reported to be injured during the chaos.
The incident happened around 1 pm.
Thousands of BNP supporters gathered around the party office from 10 am on the 3rd day of nomination paper sale. Vehicular movement was disrupted, because of huge gathering.
The crowd has been dispersed already. Three gates of BNP central office have been locked from inside.
Law enforcers have occupied the street. Front side of the central office is now empty till writing of the report.
