JHALOKATI: A district court has sentenced life term imprisonment to a woman and death penalty to her lover for killing the husband in Jhalokati. 

Judge Md Ikhtiarul Islam of Jhalokati district and sessions judge’s court passed the order in presence of the accused on Sunday (Nov 11).

The convicts are- Parul Begum and her lover Khokon Hawladar, hailing from Shouljalia village of Kathalia upazila.

According to case statement, Parul Begum along with her lover Khokon hacked her husband Nasiruddin to death on February 6 in 2014. Later victim’s brother Sohrab Hossain Hawladar filed a murder case with Kathalia police station.
