DHAKA: A total of 31 Bangladeshis were apprehended in Guwahati city of Indian state of Assam on Monday (Oct 15). 

Quoting police, several Indian news outlets reported that the Bangladeshis, detained from the Guwahati Railway Station area, were planning to return in Bangladesh ahead of Durga Puja.

Of the detainees, there are 10 males, eight females and 13 children.
 
Police said they had been working in Bengaluru for last three years and could not produce any valid documents of Indian citizenship upon detention.
