DHAKA: The Sampadak Parishad (Editors' Council) is holding a human chain in front of the Jatiya Press Club in city to press for proper amendments to nine sections of the Digital Security Act.
The Parishad, a platform of editors of the country's national dailies, formed the human chain in the morning on Monday (October 15).
The Daily Star Editor Mahfuz Anam said: “Sections 8, 21, 25, 28, 29, 31, 32, 43, and 53 of the Digital Security Act must be amended. The amendments must take place in the last session of the current national parliament.”
The Digital Security bill was passed in parliament on September 19.
President Abdul Hamid signed the Digital Security Bill into law on October 8.
