DHAKA: Health Minister Mohammad Nasim announced that the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) to be modernized into a 5,000-bed hospital in a bid to improve the health service system of the country.

We have plans and will implement it if we come to power in the next election, the minister added.

Nasim made the remarks while addressing as chief guest at a program in National Institute of Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Bangladesh on Wednesday (Sept 12).

He said the health sector is being developed because Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is aware of all matters of the country. The development activities are being implemented under her direction.

“PM will inaugurate the Super Specialized Hospital of BSMMU on Thursday. Moreover, the 500-bed Sheikh Hasina Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute will be opened on October 20. The premier will also inaugurate the extended portion of National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) on October 18," he added.
