Tremor jolts Dhaka, other parts of country The tremor sent panicked residents into the Dhaka streets

DHAKA: A tremor was felt in Dhaka and some other parts of the country. The earthquake measuring 5.6 in Richter scale hit India on Tuesday morning (September 12).

The tremor was felt at 10:50am (Bangladesh time).

Bangladesh Meteorological Department confirmed the matter. 

The epicenter of the quake was at the depth of 10 kilometers north-east of Assam in India.

Narayanganj, Rajshahi, Netrokona, Nilphamari, Lalmonirhat, Panchagarh and Dinajpur are among the districts the tremors felt in.

No casualty was reported till filing the report.
