DHAKA: Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia has asked the city dwellers to bring only the prayer rug (Janamaz) at the Eid jamaat to be held in city’s different places on the day of Eid-ul-Fitr.

He made the disclosure after inspecting the security measures at the central eidgah Thursday (June 14).

“No one will be allowed to enter the eidgah without body search and nothing but the prayer mat will be allowed.”

However, the attendees will be allowed to possess umbrella in case of rain.

The police chief urged everyone to cooperate the law enforcers, for ensuring security.

Law enforcement agencies have taken tight security measures in different prayer grounds of the city. Thousands police personnel will be deployed for conducting search operation including the areas of National Edigah and Baitul Mukarram.  

RAB, SWAT and Dog Squad will remain vigilant.

Besides, the eidgahs and the major points of the city will be inspected through CCTV coverage.
