Dhaka-Meghalaya route bus service launched Google map covers Dhaka and Meghalaya

MEGHALAYA (INDIA): The bus communication between Bangladesh capital city Dhaka and Indian state of Meghalaya has been launched.

The bus will operate in Dhaka-Sylhet-Shilong-Guwahati route.

The bus from Dhaka will leave for Meghalaya capital city Shilong, in each Thursday and will return through the same route in each Monday. Earlier, bus plying in the same route was in trial phase. 

Shyamoli Paribahan-NR Travels has been appointed the operator through tender process, following a deal between Bangladesh and India to launch the bus service.

A passenger have to count Tk 5 thousand as bus fare for the both rides including return and Tk 600 as visa fee. Shyamoli-NR authority will handle the visa process where the passenger won’t need to go through e-token procedures. 

In Dhaka, the bus leaves from Kamalapur BRTC International Bus Terminal at 10:00pm Thursday and reaches Shilong Police Bazar at 11:00am Friday. 

Shubhankar Ghosh Rakesh, managing director of Shyamoli-NR, told Banglanews tourism possibilities between Bangladesh-India went higher through launching of the bus service.  

The 28-seat air-conditioned specialized bus has been made convenient to ply upwards on the hilly roads.

Tickets can be collected from the 60 booking offices of Shyamoli-NR in Dhaka, the international counter at Kamalapur and 25/1-B, Khilji Road, Shyamoli, Mohammadpur.
