Maradona to join Bangabandhu’s birth centenary celebrations

DHAKA: Football legend Diego Maradona will visit Dhaka to attend Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s birth centenary celebrations.

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) president Kazi Mohammad Salahuddin confirmed this to media on Tuesday (Dec 31).

He said: "Maradona is expected to visit Bangladesh in next year to the birth centenary celebration ceremony of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman."

Although, the exact schedule of the visit of Maradona to Dhaka has not been fixed as yet, Maradona will come here as BFF's guest to be part of the celebration, Salahuddin added. 

Maradona is an Argentine football manager and retired professional footballer. He is currently the coach of Argentine Primera División club Gimnasia de La Plata. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest football players of all time.
