Pakistan set Bangladesh 302-run target

DHAKA: Pakistan have set a 302-run target for Bangladesh in the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday (Nov 23).

Pakistan scored 301 runs for 6 in stipulated 50 overs.

Rohail Nazir was the top scorer with 113 runs off 111 balls while Imran Rafiq took 62.

Sumon Khan bagged three wickets while Hasan Mahmud picked up two wickets.

Earlier, Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto won the toss and asked Pakistan to bat first.

Both Bangladesh and Pakistan remained unbeaten throughout the tournament.

Bangladesh reached the semifinals as group champions as they defeated Hong Kong, Nepal and India in their Group-B encounters. The hosts then went on to beat Afghanistan comfortably by seven wickets in a semifinal fixture.

Pakistan also had a smooth run to the final, winning all their group matches against Afghanistan, Oman and Sri Lanka before going on to beat arch-rivals India in a trilling three-run win in the semifinals.

This is their maiden final appearance for Bangladesh in the tournament and third for Pakistan.
