DHAKA: Bangladesh Cricket Board banned the former Test pacer Shahadat Hossain from all types of cricket for physically assaulting his mate.

BCB made the decision on Monday (November 18).

He beat Arafat Sunny during the second day's play between Dhaka Division and Khulna Divison at the Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna.

It was learned that Shahadat asked Arafat to shine one side of the ball, but Arafat refused to do, that angered Shahadat. He therefore gave bent to feelings at the field. Mates and umpire came to the rescue.
