BARISHAL: A female leader of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal’s central unit was arrested after a demonstration program had taken place in front of BNP office in the district sadar Saturday (Feb 9).

Metropolitan unit BNP staged the program around 11am demanding immediate release of its Chairperson Khaleda Zia and other leaders and activists who were grilled in various cases. 

Barishal metropolitan unit BNP Secretary General Ziauddin Shikder and Joint Secretary General Anwarul Huq Tarin, among others, address the program chaired by metropolitan unit Vice President Moniruzzaman Faruq.

As the program ended, police detained Chhatra Dal central unit Secretary and Barishal metropolitan unit Chhatra Dal Senior Vice President Afroza Khanam Nasrin from in front of the party office.

She was arrested in a case filed with Shahbagh Police Station on Jan 31, 2017, said Kotwali Model Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Mostafizur Rahman.
