Medical team to prevent sale of sick cattle

DHAKA: Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim said a medical team would work in preventing the sale of sick and unfit sacrificial animals for the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha.

The minister made the development joining the inaugural ceremony of the online platform for selling sacrificial animals named ‘DNCC Digital Haat’ through online from his residence at Bailey Road in the capital. 

He also said the online platform for selling sacrificial animals is a timely initiative.

a2i and e-Commerce Association of Bangladesh will collaborate on this online platform for selling sacrificial animals.

The Livestock Ministry concerned will be aware so that sick animals are not sold in any way in the cattle markets, SM Rezaul Karim said. 

Besides, a monitoring team would work in coordination with the officers of the ministry concerned, the minister added.
