CHATTOGRAM: Morshedul Alam, a director of S Alam Group, has died from coronavirus (COVID-19) infection.
He was 62.
He breathed his last at the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Chattogram General Hospital on Friday night.
Morshedul Alam was buried at the family graveyard in Patiya last night following the guidelines.
Senior consultant of the hospital Dr Abdur Rab confirmed the news.
He said Morshedul Alam was admitted to the hospital’s isolation unit on Thursday evening and later transferred to the ICU.
Morshedul, elder brother to S Alam Group Chairman Saiful Alam, was also a director of the NRB Global Bank.
Six members of the family, including Morshedul, tested positive for coronavirus on May 17.
