ACC director dies of coronavirus

DHAKA: A director of Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) died of coronavirus (COVID-19) at a city hospital on Monday (April 6) morning.

Jalal Saifur Rahman, director (administration) of ACC, breathed his last at Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital around 7:30am.

He had tested positive for coronavirus seven days ago and was undergoing at the hospital, said Alimuzzamn, administrative officer of the hospital. 

His wife and children were kept in the isolation unit of the hospital, he said.

Bangladesh on Sunday has confirmed 9th death from coronavirus disease. 

Besides, 18 more people have tested positive, raising the total number of coronavirus cases in Bangladesh to 88, according to the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR).

A total of 33 coronavirus patients recovered as three of patients have recovered across the country in the last 24 hours, the IEDCR added.
