5,000 global coronavirus deaths in last 24 hrs, total 47,000 

DHAKA: The world confirmed around 5,000 deaths from coronavirus in last 24 hours raising the total number of fatalities to 47,263 till 12:30pm on Thursday (Bangladesh Time).  

On Wednesday (April 1) the coronavirus death toll reached 42,340 at the same time. 

A total of 936,865 people have been infected while 194,658 recovered worldwide in the deadly disease, worldometer reports.

In Italy, 110,574 have been infected, 13,155 died and 16,847 recovered in the deadly disease while in Spain 104,118 infected, 9,387 died, 22,647 recovered.

The USA confirmed 215,344 coronavirus cases, the highest number of infection in a country of the world, while 5,112 died and 8,878 recovered. 

In France, 56,989 people have been infected, 4,032 people died and 10,935 recovered while in China, 81,554 people have been infected, 3,312 died and 76,238 recovered.

In Iran, 47,593 infected, 3,036 patients died and 15,473 recovered while in UK, 29,474 people infected, 2,352 died and 135 recovered.

In Netherlands, 13,614 people have been infected, 1,173 died and only 250 people recovered while in Germany, 77,981 people infected, 931 died and 18,700 recovered.

In Belgium, 13,964 people have been infected, 828 died and 2,132 recovered while in Switzerland, 17,768 people have been infected, 488 died and 2,967 recovered.

Besides, Turkey so far confirmed total 277 deaths, Brazil 244, Sweden 239, Portugal 187, South Korea 169, Indonesia 157, Austria 146, Canada 129 and Denmark reported 104 deaths already.

In India, 2,032 people have been infected, 58 died and 148 recovered so far.

In Bangladesh, 56 people have been infected, six people died and 26 people recovered.

The coronavirus COVID-19 is affecting 203 countries and territories around the world and 2 international conveyances: the Diamond Princess cruise ship harbored in Yokohama, Japan, and the Holland America's MS Zaandam cruise ship.
