CUMILLA: At least three people were killed and around 20 injured as a picnic bus fell into a roadside ditch at Zinglatoli area on Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in Daudkandi upazila of Cumilla on Saturday morning.

The victims were identified as Shafiqul Islam, Shahid Mullah and Ramjan Ali.

Daudkandi Highway Police sergeant Alamgir Hossain told Banglanews that the accident took place around 6:00 am when the Dhaka-bound Khadiza VIP Paribahan bus skidded off the road and fell into the roadside ditch, leaving the trio dead on the spot and 20 others injured.

The injured were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH). Three of them are in critical condition, Alamgir Hossain added.
