JASHORE: A suspected robber was killed in a reported gunfight with police at Begaritola area of Monirampur upazila in Jashore early on Friday (February 28).

The deceased was--- identified as Nurul Hoque alias Keru—a resident of Vojgati village of the upazila.

“Nurul Hoque was detained by the locals while hijacking an auto rickshaw at Chingra area under Keshabpur upazila on Thursday noon. Nurul is a listed terrorist. He is accused in 10 robbery cases. Besides, he is also accused in an arms case,” Jashim Uddin, officer-in-charge (OC) of Keshabpur Police Station, told Banglanews.  

Dead body was sent to 250-bed general hospital’s morgue, OC said.
