BSF kills Bangladeshi on Benapole frontier The bereaved family members

BENAPOLE:  A Bangladeshi cattle trader was reportedly tortured to death by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Benapole frontier in Sharsha Upazila of Jeshore.

Hanif alias Khoka was--- aged 33, son of Shahjahan Ali—a resident of Agravulot village under Sharsha Upazila.

Shahjahan Ali said his son went missing from Wednesday (January 22) night. He learnt that BSF caught him on way to bring cattle, took him to a camp and tortured. Later, his condition deteriorated and died on way to hospital. Now his body is kept in Gaighata police custody of India. Border Guard Bangladesh was informed of the incident.

Confirming the incident, local Union Parishad member Tabibur Rahman Hanaf Ali said that efforts were being made to bring back the body after contacting BGB and BSF.

Meanwhile, 21-battalion BGB subedar Mofazzel Hossain said they tried to contact BSF after hearing of the incident. However, nothing has been confirmed so far.
