JHENAIDAH:  Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained four people from Maheshpur upazila in Jhenaidah for entering Bangladesh without valid documents on Monday (December 16).

They were arrested from Magadaspur ground under Jaluli BOP of Maheshpur Upazila on Monday (December 16).

Nazrul Islam Khan, assistant director of the battalion-58 of Khalishpur BGB in Jhenaidah, told Banglanews: “Among the detainees, there were three men and a woman. One of them who is a woman claims to be an Indian citizen while others claim to be citizens of Bangladesh. The four arrestees have been handed over to Maheshpur police station.”

Maheshpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rashedul Alam told Banglanews that a case was being prepared against the detainees under passport ordinance.

Earlier on Sunday (November 15), BGB detained 6 persons from the same upazila.
