Housewife dies of dengue fever in Madaripur

MADARIPUR:  A housewife died of mosquito-born disease in Shibchar upazila in Madaripur. This death makes a total of 8 deaths in the district including 4 ones in Shibchar upazila.

The deceased was identified as Sumi Akter, 30, wife of speedboat driver Anwar fakir, hailing from Kanthalbari area of Shibchar upazila. 

She died on the way to Dhaka from Shibchar upazila complex for better treatment on Saturday (August 24).

According to the concerned source,  Sumi was admitted to Shibchar upazila health complex on August 20. Later, she was diagnosed with dengue fever. She left behind a daughter and two sons.

Dr Md Abdul Mokaddes, Health and Family Planning officer of Shibchar upazila confirmed the death to Banaglanews, saying that there were 24 more dengue patients at the complex.
