2 killed in Dhaka road crashes

DHAKA: A 45-year-old greengrocer and a 60-year-old unidentified woman were killed in separate road crashes in Dhaka. 

Shahirul was critically injured as a vehicle hit him under North Badda overbridge around 7am. Bystanders rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where he was pronounced dead by physician, said a pedestrian named Shakil.

Shahirul was hailed from Kalmakanda upazila of Netrokona.

Another pedestrian named Sohag said a bus of Ekota Paribahan hit an elderly woman in front of East West University (EWU) in Turag-Kamarpara area, leaving her critically injured, around 11pm Saturday (August 17).

Locals rushed her to DMCH where she was pronounced dead by physician.

DMCH Police Outpost In-Charge (Inspector) Bachchu Mia told Banglanews that the bodies were kept in morgue for autopsies.
