DHAKA: The government is buying luxurious Mitsubishi Pajero Sport QX jeeps to be given to the Upazila Nirbahi Officers (UNOs).  

Tk 59,60,85,000 will be spent to purchase 66 jeeps of the same model. Each of the vehicles costs Tk 90,31,000.

Cabinet Committee on Government Purchase (CCGP) approved two proposals, in this regard, on Wednesday (June 19).

The proposals were approved at a meeting chaired by Agriculture Minister Abdur Razzak in absence of Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal, also convener of the CCGP, due to illness.

State organization Industries will supply the vehicles upon direct purchase policy.

The allocation will be taken from the national budget for fiscal year 2019-20, Cabinet Division Additional Secretary Mst Nasima Begum told reporters after the meeting.
