Myanmar citizen dies in Kashimpur Jail

GAZIPUR: A Myanmar citizen, who was accused in an explosion case, died in Kashimpur Central Jail.

Yasin Arafad, aged 27, was pronounced dead at Shaheed Taj Uddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital in Gazipur around 9:45 pm on Friday (June 14).

Yasin Arafad was--son of late Habibur Rahman—a resident of Hasudhara area under Maungdaw town in Rakhine State.

Yasin Arafad had been serving a 10-year sentence with the case filed with Lalbagh police station. His was identified with prisoner number 6335.

According to senior jail super Subrata Kumar Bala of Kashimpur Central Jail-2, Yasin felt sudden chest pain at night. He was taken to jail hospital and later to the aforementioned hospital, but doctors declared him dead.

Body will be sent to Dhaka Mdical College Hospital for post mortem. Following legal process, body will be handed over to the family, Subrata Kumar Bala said.
