BRAHMANBARIA: Three passengers of a CNG-driven auto-rickshaw were killed as a truck rammed the vehicle in Bijoynagar upzila of Brahmanbaria Saturday (May 25).
Three others were injured.
The accident occurred on Dhaka-Sylhet Highway in Islampur-Satborg area, at noon.
The deceased were identified as-- Abu Taher, 60, Billal Uddin, 40 and Santa Roy Chowdhury 30, residents of Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj.
Islampur Police Outpost Sub-Inspector (SI) Md Siddiq confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
Local sources said Billal died on the spot and five others were injured when a truck had rammed the auto-rickshaw.
Shanta and Taher were pronounced dead after being taken to the district sadar hospital.
The three injured-- Faisal, Farzina and Zumman were sent to Dhaka for treatment.
The truck was seized but its driver fled the spot, said Khatihata Highway Police Outpost Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Hossain Sarker.
