Dhaka students protest for safe roads on day-2  Students protest in the capital for safe roads

DHAKA:  Students blocked Progati-Sarani-kuril-Rampura road for the second day protesting the death of Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) student Abrar Ahmed Chowdhury in a road accident.

After gathering in front of Jamuna Future Park in Dhaka, Students of American International University Bangladesh (AIUB), North South University (NSU) BUP, and other private university students are chanting slogans for safer roads since Wednesday morning (March 20). 

Students were seen holding various placards and national flags and shouting, “We want justice.”

They also declared not to leave streets until their demands are met.

“We don’t want to move into action in students’ protest. We don’t have any troubles if movement runs peacefully. But, we are working to keep vehicular movement normal,” Deputy Commissioner of police under DMP’s Gulshan division Mushtaq Ahmed said

BUP student Abrar Ahmed Chowdhury was killed in a road accident on Tuesday (March 19).

Students began their demonstration with 8-point demand in the wake of the accident.
