DHAKA: Dhaka University History Department Supernumerary Professor Dr Kazi Shahidullah has been appointed as the chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC).
Secondary and Higher Education Division of Education Ministry issued the order Wednesday (May 22).
Dr Kazi Shahidullah's appointment will remain effective for four years since the day of his appointment, stated the order.
Former UGC chairman Abdul Mannan's tenure ended on May 7.
