Google Phone for Bangladesh next week

DHAKA: Google is set to launch affordable smartphone ‘Android One’ for Bangladesh with latest features next week.

Sources told banglanews that in a bid to improve the latest technology experience in emerging markets, Google is expanding its Android One program to cover Bangladesh along with Nepal, and Sri Lanka.

Moreover, according to a report published on the Tech Crunch, the company recently announced that a number of devices under the Android One banner will go on sale in these three markets over the coming week.

Google added that along with the existing partners Micromax, Karbonn and Spice, which released phones in India, Symphony will also join the rally of Android One.

Symphony, the Bangladesh-based company, is preparing the Symphony Roar A50 for Google’s Android One initiative.

However, the Symphony A50 is expected to feature similar configuration of the previous Android One smartphones - Spice Dream Uno H, Karbonn Sparkle V and Micromax Canvas A1.

All of them features similar 4.5-inch FWGA display, Quad-Core MT6582 SoC, 1GB RAM, Dual SIM support and stock Android Kitkat 4.4.4.

As with the initial launch, Google said that the new phones will “give people a high quality mobile experience for an affordable price, running stock-Android with updates from Google” and that’s hugely important for the company.
