Bangladesh seal first T20I series against New Zealand

Bangladesh clinched their maiden T20I series victory over New Zealand after their 6-wicket win in the fourth match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday.

Tigers scored 96 runs for four after chasing down the Kiwis' tally of 93-all out with five balls to spare and took a 3-1 lead in the five-match series.

Bangladesh batsmen - captain Mahmudullah (43*) and opener Mohammad Naim (29*) helped Tigers reach the target today.

New Zealand spinners Ajaz Patel (2/9) and Rachin Ravindra (0/8) bowled eight tidy overs but first Naim and then Mahmudullah guided their side to victory.

Bangladesh earlier put in a disciplined effort to dismiss the Kiwis for 93.

Left-arm seamer Mustafizur Rahman and left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed both bagged four wickets to restrict visitors under 100 runs. Nasum was made Player of the Match.

Earlier, Bangladesh won first two matches while New Zealand bagged one. Bangladesh is ahead of its opponent by 2-1 in five-match series.
