Football God Diego Recalled By The God Of The Heaven

ICONS never die, they take eternal rest and live forever through legacy they create during their days in the earth. Diego Armando Maradona, arguably the best footballer gracing the sporting world has just expired.

Born in 1960 he was just 60 when he breathed his last from cardiac arrest. The news of his departure for the other world forever made the world standstill.

All news media (print, electronic and social media) engulfed with memories and memoirs. How can adoring fans followers forget the enigma Diego Created? He was a one-man show for Argentina in 1986 winning the FIFA world club. He was lone warrior for his Italian Club Napoli in turning an ordinary team to Champions. He made Argentina known to the world.

The present generation did not see Pele in action. There was no internet, no Youtube at his time. To the most Diego is the best Footballer ever born. Perhaps one who can be compared with Superstar Mohammad Ali, the boxing legend.

The only person in the soccer world who matches him in achievement Brazilian Icon Endon Orantas Do Nasimanto (Pele) himself in his obituary reference said” We will play soccer in the Sky.” Pele rocked the soccer world in 1958 as a 17 years old twinkling star.

In 1962, 1966 and 1970 world cup Pele blazed the world with his brilliant goal scoring ability. Pele did not play professional soccer in highly competitive European League. But Maradona did. He chose an ordinary Italian team and almost through solo efforts led them win the Italian Championship.

In 1986 world he two goals against England will be remembered till eternity. The first where out jumped his challengers and brought the ball under control in the twinkling of an eye with his fist is the famous “Hand Of God Scoring the Goal.” The second was brilliant solo effort dribbling past 6 and even the goal keeper for the best goal ever seen. In 1990 his brilliant efforts advanced Argentina to the final. But his team lost to stubborn Germany through a controversial Penalty. World cried with weeping Maradona after the match.

However, his indiscipline in life (drug, alcohol) and going against the rule often struck the headlines for wrong reasons. But his out of the work skills and quality as a peerless football always kept him way above the rest where not even Messi and Ronaldo could reach. The hero of soccer world suddenly left all in 2020. Argentina has declared three days state mourning. His departure is an irreparable loss to the sporting world.

The never-ending debate about Pele and Maradona will be everlasting. We must not compare two legends of two ages. We cannot compare Pacific Ocean and Atlantic Ocean. Pele was lucky in the sense that he had players like Garrincha, Vava, Didi, Tostao, Carlos Alberto beside him. But Diego did it almost single handed inspiring Batistuta and Canigea.  The only common among both was that both were targets of ugly tackles as they were irresistible with the ball in their feet. The only way to stop them were ugly tackles.  Pele is still living being 20 years senior. But Diego left a bit too early.

Bye, Bye Diego. Stay in peace wherever you stay in the other world. Your legacy will be everlasting for sure.

HEROES, LEGENDS ARE FOR EVER. LEGEND LIKE DIEGO MARADONA WILL STAY LIKE NORTH STAR IN THE HORIZON FOR EVER.
