KXIP won the second Super Over
Player Of The Match: KL Rahul

The drama of exciting T20 cricket reached its peak when the second match of IPL 2020 on the day between reigning champions MI and a bit unlucky team of IPL 2020 KXIP also ended in a tie with both teams scoring 176/6. Even the first super over ended in tie with both teams scoring 5. However, lady luck smiled upon KXIP as they won the second super over. This win created an opportunity for KXIP for a late stage gate crash into top league. At the same time MI lost an opportunity for reaching the top of the table.

MI Batting struggled a lot in most of part of the innings. None but protean Q de Cock (53) could withstand the pressure that KXIP bowlers created . The score was 6/119 at 17th over when Coulternile joined Caribbean blaster Keiron Pollard. These two blasted 57 precious runs in the unfinished 7th wicket partnership in 3.3 overs. Pollard scored 34* in 12 balls while Coulternile scored 24* in 12. Mohammad Sami (2/30) and Arshdeep Singh 2/35 were the peak of KXIP bowlers.

Chasing the difficult target on a slow gripping wicket KXIP batsmen had to encounter very potent attack of Bumrah (3/23), Chahar (2/33) , Pandya and Boult . Only prolific KL Rahul (77) could hold his fort. Gayle (24) and Pooran (24) had little cameos .But could not continue. KXIP managed earning tie scoring exactly 176/6. Chris Jordan got out on the last ball getting run out. JM Bumrah bowled exceptionally well taking 3 for 24. Chahar took 2 for 33. Bowling Bumrah on the 18th over did the trick as he could knock out Rahul in that over. Otherwise Rahul could finish the match even before the last over.

In the first super over KXIP managed 5/2 as Bumrah bowled his Yorkers on target. All thought that it would be a cake walk for MI. But Mohammad Sami bowled an excellent super over restricting MI to 5/1. KXIP deservedly won the second super over and kept their hopes for a knock out round alive.
