Dream 11 IPL 2020: 32nd Match
Kings XI Punjab (KKIP) Vs Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Played at Sarjah on 14 October 2020

Brief Scorecard: KKIP 177/2 (KL Rahul 61*, CH Gayle 53, M Agarwal 45) beat RCB 171/5 (V Kohli 48, CH Morris 25*S Dube 23, M Ashwin 2/28, M Shami 2/45) by 8 wickets.

Player of The Match: KL Rahul.

Universal boss the redoubtable mover and shaker of T20 format of cricket developed a stomach bug. It kept him away from the first round of IPL2020. His entertainment was sadly missed. On his return he was about 60% of his full gale scoring 53 in 45 deliveries. Even such a spark required KKIP winning the last ball thrilling encounter against RCB by 8 wickets. Gayle’s compatriot Nicholas Puran had to blast the last ball of Chahal’s dramatic over high above CH Morris across the rope. RCB could reach a competitive score of 171/5 primary due to a holding innings of 48 from Kohli and unbroken 6th wicket stand of 35 in 2.1 overs between Morris and Udana. KKIP looking like cruising to victory by the 18th over, riding on effervescent Rahul and rollicking Gayle (93 runs 2nd wicket partnership). CH Morris bowled an excellent 19th over. Even Gayle and Rahul could not take any liberty. The match rolled to exciting last over. Gayle got himself run out. The match tied by the second last over. In came Nicholas Puran (poor man’s Gayle). He smoked Chahal’s last ball over the rope breaking the loosing cycle of KKIP. RCB lost the match by 8 wickets. Perhaps this win would serve as a wakeup call for other teams. Universal boss will cause a few other teams to suffer.

Earlier opting to bat RCB struggled all the way. In the top order none but Kohli (48) could do much against very accurate disciplined bowling of KKIP. For reasons best known to RCB think tank ABD was not sent to his usual batting position. Mr. 360 degree should have batted at 4. Sent late he could do nothing. RCB was looking miserable at 6/136 by 17.5 overs. However, Morris (25* in 8 balls) and Udana (10* in 5 balls) blasting 35 in 2.1 Overs gave some respectability 171/5 to RCB innings. M Ashwin 2/23 and M Shami 2/45 were the main wicket takers of KKIP.

KKIP looked determined for getting back into winning momentum. In the first round they lost a few close matches. KL Rahul continued his prolific form with the bat playing and unbeaten innings of 61. M Agarwal also looked solid scoring 45. The first wicket partnership of 78 sets the tone. A person who prides himself as “UNIVERSAL BOSS “Christopher Henry Gayle announced his arrival in IPL 2020 with a bang producing 53 in 45 deliveries. It could be a cakewalk victory for RCB. The match could be over by the 18th over. But some excellent death bowling by Morris and Chahal led the match to the last ball thrill at match tied. Nicholas Puran smashed Chahal’s delivery way above the head of Morris. KKIP won by 8 wickets. Tiger of T20 Gayle tasted the blood; Beware bowlers for some Gayle hale coming soon. The entertainer on and off the field is back.
