Dream 11 IPL 2020. Match 28th
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) Vs Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
Played At Sarjah on 12 October 2020
Brief Scorecard
RCB 194/2 (AB de Villiers 73*, Aaron Flinch 47, Virat Kohli 33*, Padikkai 32) Beat KKR 112/9 (Shubman Gill 34, Chris Morris 2/17, Washington Sunder 2/20) by 82 Runs.
Player of The Match: AB de Villiers

Yesterday at Sarjah it was a match of two better teams of IPL 2020. A much closer contest was usual expectation. But a blitz of Mr. 360 degree AB de Villers and abject surrender of KKR batsmen made it a cakewalk for RCB. Cricinfo in match report summed up eloquently as

Quote
AB de Villiers scored 73 off 33 balls, at a strike rate of 221.21. Everyone else who batted - a list including Aaron Finch, Virat Kohli, Eoin Morgan, Dinesh Karthik and Andre Russell - combined to score 218 off 208 balls, at a strike rate of 104.81
Unquote.

RCB produced 194/2 on a slow, low gripping wicket. Then RCB bowlers teased and tormented KKR to a miserable 112/9. A huge win by 82 runs finished RCB at number 3 of the points table above KKR. KR proved no match for RCB on the day. It was absolutely a one sided contest rather a one man show.

Points Table:
Traditionally Sarjah wicket used to be a batting paradise. 200 runs were scored in most matches. But this time wicket got slower and lower as tournament progressed. But yesterday all except ABD struggle to strike. ABD is a rare breed and when he appears in his belligerent mood he takes the heart out of the opposition so much so that opposition forgets playing their own game. Opting to bat RCB appeared to struggle reaching 94/2 by the 13th over. Aaron Flinch and Padikkai were not looking comfortable for striking the ball at all. Even great V Kohli was finding it difficult. ABD came and changed the entire complexion of the match. He raced to unbeaten 73 in only 33 deliveries striking 5 fours and 6 sixes. The unfinished 3rd wicket partnership produced 100 runs in only 7.4 overs.

195 on slow low gripping surface was a very steep target. Moreover, the ferocity of aggression of ABD batting must have rattled KKR very much. Chris Morris bowls line to line. His little swing either way suits such wicket. His miserly 2/17 complemented the spin attack of Washington Sunder 2/20 as KKR could crawl to 112/9 by the end of the allotted overs. Only Shubman Gill (34) looked like batting with some comfort. 8 KKR batsmen could not even reach double digit. It ended into a comprehensive win for RCB by 82 runs. The huge win elevated RCB at third position above KKR.
